POST 7:

One expert I admire is Claudio Donoso, Forest Engineer from the University of Chile and Master of Science from the University of California (EE.UU.), he was an expert in Forest Ecology and Forestry, being an inspiration to me and many generations of Forest Engineers.

He was director of the Institute of Silvicutura and Prodecano in 1994. In addition, co-editor of the magazine Bosque in the 1980s, where he also published several Scientific articles. In 2000, the Austral University of Chile named him Professor Emeritus, the same date he retired from the University.

His contribution in national politics to valuing forests and benefiting society was also important. In this context, he actively participated in the design of policies, laws and regulations for Chile's native forests. An important milestone was the creation of the forest typology for Chile (1981). Of particular significance was his persevering work of technical support and promotion of the adoption of Law No. 20283 on Native Forest Recovery and Forest Development.

I like it because he was a man of the woods, for his struggle, love and work from theory to earth, it is for all the above mentioned is that Professor Donoso is a reference for me.
